The Lord of the Rings Location Tour

We did a Lord of the Rings Location Tour around Wellington yesterday. I picked out the best of the photos. The tour was amazing! The tour driver drove like a Canadian, but he was very entertaining. He had tons of photos from the shooting of the films, which made it really easy to see where all the sets were. I learned some things about filming. Some scenes, like Arwen racing to the Fords of Bruinen, involve shots from both the North and South Islands of New Zealand. Plus, the closeups are of Liv Tyler, and the faraway shots are of a horse-riding stunt double. All those things are mashed together into a sequence which really takes up a very small part of the film.

  1. It looks like you are having fantastic weather.
Great photos. You may want to work on your 'fierce' face though - far too friendly looking!

  2. Fierce - friendly - or crazy! BTW - my official hobbit name is Drogo Deepdelver. Pretty sinister, eh?

  3. Yeah, I think that may be my crazy face.
Drogo Deepdelver is a pretty cool hobbit name! You sound like the sort of hobbit that might actually go on adventures...
