The Last of the Library Inductions

I had a great weekend in London, and I'll post about that soon, but I'm still behind from Thursday, and if I leave chronological order now, I'll never catch up, so here's Thursday:

We were supposed to have half the day free on Thursday, but instead we got an email letting us know that our induction for the Bodliean Law Library was scheduled for Thursday afternoon. Instead of going straight back to the house after class, someone suggested Ben's Cookies, so we walked to the covered market again. Ben's cookies really are exceptional. They are so huge that they're sold by weight!

Xinyi, Cindy, and I with our cookies!

Then we went to Moo-Moo's for milkshakes. I didn't try the Kinder Bueno milkshake this time, but I definitely will have to try that before I leave Oxford. Kinder Bueno bars are really delicious, and they could only be better when mixed with ice cream!

I think it's really awesome that they know how to make milkshakes here. When I lived in Paris, the only milkshake I could find was at a restaurant called Breakfast in America. Everywhere else the attempts at milkshakes were mostly milk, with a little bit of cream blended in.

The "Keep Calm" stuff is everywhere, but some are still funny.

After lunch, we had our induction to the Law Library, which has a really good collection, but it is entirely non-circulating, and is about a 35 minute walk from our house. I'm hoping I won't need to use it often. The librarians were really cool, but the building is unfortunately ugly. The librarian giving our tour explained that it was built by a renowned architect, but I'm not a fan. Most of Oxford is much prettier. However, the one advantage to the ugly building is that it has important things like power sockets at most desks, which are hard to come by in the Bodliean.

The outside is ugly

But the inside is very nice
