Friday we left Oxford and took a train to Birmingham International Airport. It was a direct train, but then there was a short shuttle-train between the train station and the airport, but overall, it was very easy to get to the airport. I’d fly out of Birmingham all the time, but there just aren’t as many flights as there are from Heathrow. The flight to Belfast only lasted about 45 minutes, which is a wonderful length for a flight. The shorter, the better!

When we arrived in Belfast, our bus from the airport dropped us right behind the Queen’s Opera House. We were told to come back in half an hour, and we got half-price day seats to the play! The play was called Stones in His Pockets. I’d read about it when I was planning the trip, and I knew it was set in Ireland, but I didn’t know much else about it. It was a strange play. All the characters were played by two men who changed their demeanor to imply a whole cast of characters. Some of it was just silly, but it was very entertaining, and it was really cool to hear the Irish accents. I guess everything just sounds cooler with an accent. The Opera House is a pretty amazing building. If I ever have a lot of money and nothing better to do, I might decorate my living room in that style.
