Transit Day

Monday morning we got up at 7:30, left the hotel at 8, took the metro to Gare du Nord, took the Eurostar to St. Pancras in London, walked over to Kings Cross and took a picture at platform 9 3/4, took the Tube to Paddington, got lunch, took the First Great Western train from Paddington to Oxford, checked into the hostel, and walked to class. By the time I got to class, I was pretty tired.

Breakfast: it got a little bit mixed up on the ride to the train station, but it was still delicious!

When we got to London, we stopped at Platform 9 3/4 for the obligatory Harry Potter fan photo

After my class, Rachel and I walked around Oxford a bit and bought some souvenirs, and then we had a nice English tea with scones with clotted cream and jam. Rachel isn’t a big tea drinker, so she got a hot chocolate. I got a pot of chamomile tea, which I’m pretty sure is my new favourite. It’s so relaxing. I do put quite a bit of sugar in it, but at least I feel very British while drinking tea.

We had a nice dinner at Wagamama and did some more souvenir shopping. It was quite a busy day!
