Canterbury Tales

Sunday morning I met my friend Lauren at Paddington Station in London. I had told her to meet me at the statue of Paddington Bear, which turned out to be a pretty good place to meet. While I was waiting, I got to see lots of people smile at the statue. It really makes lots of people happy. It made me happier just watching people get excited about the statue!

Lauren and Paddington Bear!
We took a high-speed train to Canterbury, which was a really pretty town!

The West Gate of Canterbury

Isn't it weird to see cars going through ancient castle walls? It reminds me of Quebec City, which has similar walls.

So pretty!

Lauren is obsessed with Nijntje! (the bunny, which is a character in Dutch children's books)
On the train to Canterbury, Lauren looked at me and said, "Oh, I forgot to look up things to do in Canterbury," and I laughed and said, "Well, I forgot too. I guess we'll just have an adventure!" I had printed a map, so we just followed it to Canterbury Cathedral, which was really awesome!

Modern stained glass. It reminds me of a Disney movie!

I love it when choirs practice while you're touring a church! It really adds to the atmosphere!

We walked around Canterbury some more and found the ruins of a Roman Castle! I still can't get over Roman ruins in England!
