I'm leaving January 5th for Oxford, and I hope that I'll be as diligent about posting on my blog this semester as I was last summer. I've never quite managed a post every day, but three or four a week is pretty good, I think. For now, I'm really enjoying spending time with friends and family. I spent a wonderful evening last night with my high school friends. I am so lucky to have such friends, and lucky that we still find time to catch up. Unfortunately, the usual suspects seemed to have forgotten their cameras, so I have no pictures from our night of revelry.
I spent this evening eating traditional German food and celebrating Josephine's birthday and the coming of the New Year with my extended family and friends. I tried sauerkraut for the first time in years and quite enjoyed it, and of course I always love birthday cake!
I will spend this weekend with my amazing boyfriend, then spend a few days next week working on the packing and repacking, and then I shall depart on my grand adventure.
I'm so grateful for my wonderful family and friends. I feel so close to everyone right now that it is hard to even imagine that I will not see any of them for four months. My Baggins side is overpowering my Tookish side right now, and I just want to stay here in a familiar land where people love me. But I'm sure my adventurous Tookish side will win out again in a few days, just in time for the flight to Paris.
As you know, having read this post somehow, the blog has moved to a new url. Thank you, Maria, for the clever name.
Keep up the blogging! :)
